چکیده

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most common cause of diabetes, consist from about 85% cases. Diabetic nephropathy a complication in kidneys which can end up as kidney failure. Podocalyxin (PDX) protein expressed podocytes that involved various cancers, and also essential for development. The research design was carried out using observational cross-sectional analytic methods with total participants 25 DM diabetic without purposive probability sampling technique. This conducted at Endocrine Polyclinic, Clinical Pathology Laboratory, Hasanuddin University Medical Research Center (HUM-RC) Hospital, Makassar. results showed urinary PDX level subjects were 1.160 ng/mL 0.167 (p<0.001), urine albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) 644.74 mg/ g 10.071 mg/g (p<0.001) correlation test ACR (r=0.510; p=0.001). study concluded there significant difference between nephropathy, levels relationship nephropathy.

Oxidized LDL is Correlated with Urine Albumin in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Case-Control Study

Objective: In patients with diabetes mellitus, increased rate of lipoprotein oxidation and oxidative stress have important role in diabetic angiopathy, including nephropathy. We designed a study for comparing the level of Ox-LDL in diabetic patients with Macro-albuminuria, Micro-albuminuria, versus Normo-albuminuric. Materials and Methods: One hundred and thirty five patients with type 2 dia...

Serum levels of interleukin-23 and 35 in patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic periodontitis

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and chronic periodontitis (CP) show common pathophysiological features. We investigated the serum levels of IL-23 and IL-35 in people with type 2 DM and CP. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 72 patients were divided into four equal groups: group A, participants without type 2 DM and CP; group B, patients with type 2 DM without CP; group C, patients ...

Transforming growth factor beta activity in urine of patients with type 2 diabetes and diabetic nephropathy.

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is characterized structurally by progressive mesangial deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM). Transforming growth factor-ss (TGF-ss) is considered to be one of the major cytokines involved in the regulation of ECM synthesis and degradation. Several studies suggest that an increase in urinary TGF-ss levels may reflect an enhanced production of this polypeptide by the...

Polymorphism of angiotensin-converting enzyme (rs4340) and diabetic nephropathy in Caucasians with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is the leading cause of endstage renal disease (ESRD) in developed countries. Several environmental and genetic factors predict the development and progression of DN. The renin-angiotensin system was demonstrated to be involved in the development of DN. We evaluated the association between rs4340 of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene and DN in Caucasians with...
